Overactive facial muscles can wrinkle the skin quickly, but botulinum toxin injections slow the aging process down.
Botox works by reducing the movement of key muscles, therefore limiting stress to the skin, preventing wrinkles from forming, and reducing the appearance of existing fine lines.
As we age, our collagen levels naturally decline. Collagen is a protein that provides structure and support to the skin and other tissues. As the skin loses collagen, it becomes less elastic and less resilient to the stretching and pulling it experiences on a daily basis: including the wear and tear caused by the contractions of our own muscles.
When muscles contract, they cause the skin to move, too. If the skin is less elastic, it is less equipped to handle the movement of these contractions: the skin wrinkles or sags instead of snapping back into place.
Botox helps to treat and prevent wrinkles by limiting the movement of the underlying muscles and reducing stress on the skin.
Botulinum toxin injections are incredibly versatile tools.
Our clients typically use Botox to:
Botox is a brand name of botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that is injected into muscles to temporarily reduce or restrict their movement. We carry several brands of botulinum toxin, including BOTOX®, DAXXIFY, and Dysport®.
Most of our clients find that scheduling a Botox appointment every 3 months allows them to get the most consistent and effective results long-term. Correctly-dosed neurotoxin generally lasts for 3-4 months at a time, but that time frame can vary based on placement, amount injected, and your unique metabolic rate.
There are many different types of Botox, or botulinum toxin. Our favorites (and the ones we carry) are Botox, Dysport, and Daxxify. A neurotoxin treatment can address a wide range of aesthetic concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, jowling, sagging skin, wide face, undefined jawline, under eye bags, and more.
No, Botox injections are usually not painful. Some patients describe a slight pinching or stinging sensation, but it is over quickly. Most patients experience little to no discomfort during Botox injections.
Yes, Botox can make you look younger by reducing and softening common signs of aging, including wrinkles, fine lines, jowls, under eye bags, sagging skin, and more.

Masseter Botox involves injecting botulinum toxin (such as Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify) into the masseter muscles to slim the face and jawline. Jaw Botox relaxes the masseter muscles, which are located at the back of the jaw, causing them to shrink over time. If you’re looking for a way to slim your face and achieve a more contoured, defined jawline, face slimming botox may be the right solution.
Botox for smile lines uses botulinum toxin (such as Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify) to limit muscle movement around your mouth in order to reduce and prevent smile lines. For deeper and more pronounced smile lines and laugh lines, we combine Botox with dermal filler for effective and natural-looking results.
Botox in the chin relaxes the mentalis muscle, which can treat dimpling, creasing, and an upward rotation of the chin. Lower face Botox is a great option for those who are prone to deep chin wrinkles or wish to treat a “peach pit” or “golfball” chin texture. You can view our lower face Botox and chin botox before and after images here.
Botox for sagging jowls uses botulinum toxin (such as Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify) to relax the muscles responsible for pulling the skin downward. By reducing the amount of stress and stretch on the skin, Botox prevents and reduces the appearance of jowls and wrinkles in this area. You can view our before and after pictures of jowls here.
